Pack of 10 greetings cards (all featuring the same design). Card measurements are 6 inches high by 4 inches wide and each card is complete with cellophane wrapper and envelope. Blank interiors for your own message or for any occasion. The image is printed in vibrant colours and is taken from a suffragette poster, created by W.F. Winter, and originally produced by the Artists' Suffrage League (date unknown). Image (in shades of brown, cream and sand) shows weary and dejected British working woman at a sewing machine, with the slogan "Votes for Workers" beneath it. The Portcullis: The WSPU Holloway Badge / Brooch
(Modern Replica, 2018).
The original Holloway brooch, of which this is a faithful replica, was designed by Sylvia Panhurst and presented from 1909 onwards to suffragettes who had undergone imprisonment. The portcullis and chains are in a non-precious antique-chrome plate, and the arrow on top, which is the convict symbol, is purple, white and green enamel (the colours of the WSPU). Dimensions: 2cm X 2.5cm. With a secure butterfly clasp to the rear. Presented with a free purple velvet gift-pouch in an attractive gift-bag, which is clear at the front and shiny silver at the rear.
