Size: 30mm height at tallest point. Approx 23mm at widest point. Featuring a hand-sculpted 3D figure to the centre of the badge (woman blowing trumpet), surrounded by the words [at top] "The Union of N.U.W.S.S" and [at bottom] "Organisers & Organising Secretaries". High-quality, attractive, reproduction suffragette badge / brooch. Votes for Women WSPU Suffragette Streamer. (Manufactured by Portrayer). Attractive, circular plated gold-coloured metal reproduction brooch / badge with firm safety-pin fitment at the rear for affixing to clothes. The original badge, on which this is faithfully based, was designed by Sylvia Pankhurst for the suffragette campaign in 1909 / 1910. It incorporates the purple, white and green colour-scheme of the Women's Social and Political Union, and depicts a woman stepping through an iron gate and heavy chains, carrying a 'Votes for Women' streamer. 25mm in diameter.
