Printed with archival inks on premium paper (300 GSM, Silk Art, photographic print). Poster (in varying shades of brown and black) shows a woman holding a banner ("Justice Demands the Vote"), next to a shrouded woman holding the scales of justice. They're held back by a rope tied to two posts. Below the steps, a shrouded mother cuddles her baby and another woman in period fashion looks on. Attractive, circular plated gold-coloured metal reproduction brooch / badge with firm safety-pin fitment at the rear for affixing to clothes. The original badge, on which this is faithfully based, was designed by Sylvia Pankhurst for the suffragette campaign in 1909 / 1910. It incorporates the purple, white and green colour-scheme of the Women's Social and Political Union, and depicts a woman stepping through an iron gate and heavy chains, carrying a 'Votes for Women' streamer. 25mm in diameter.
